Situated in the Staffordshire Countryside two miles from the Derbyshire border Hartley Woods is a place of peace and tranquility.
The grounds are varied with over sixty species of trees, an abundance of wildlife; we have a herd of red deer, which we have kept for the last 25 years. Within the grounds there are secluded areas with seating for quiet meditation and an 'altar' for outside services.
There are eight bedrooms: two singles with their own bathroom and toilet facilities, one family ensuite, three twin ensuites, one double ensuite and one single ensuite. They are centrally heated and facilities are provided for physically disabled. The bedrooms all open to the gardens via patio doors. They are all colour co-ordinated and have recently been refurbished. All have TV and facilities for making tea and coffee.
A large sitting room (with wood burning stove) and a Summer House provide venues for workshop activities. The sitting room has a large TV and video player. The dining room will seat twenty five.
Facilities are available for Group retreats (please bring your own leader). Bed and breakfast is available and other meals by prior arrangement. Special diets can be catered for.
We also offer bed and breakfast for those who need a base from which to explore the Peak District.
Five miles north of the A50 midway between the M1 (junction 23A) and the M6 (junction 15) take the B5030 from Uttoxeter towards Ashbourne, after three miles turn left, marked "Station Road leading to Hollington Road" - Hartley Woods is one mile on the right.
